What are the differences between rotary pumps and gear pumps

Rotary pumps and gear pumps are two different types of pumps, with different working principles, structures, and application fields. Here are the differences between these two pumps:

1. The structure is different. Rotary pumps are mainly composed of impellers and rotors, with no direct mechanical contact between the two; Gear pumps achieve positive displacement motion through the meshing of gears.

2. The working principle is different. The rotary pump relies on a pair of synchronous and reverse rotating rotors to generate suction force during rotation, thereby sucking in liquid; Gear pumps rely on a pair of meshing gears to rotate inside the pump body, creating a partial vacuum through the separation of the gears and sucking in liquid. The liquid flow capacity varies. The liquid flow capacity of a rotary pump is usually higher than that of a gear pump, and it can adapt to a larger range of changes.

3. The operating noise is different. The noise of the rotary pump is relatively low during operation; Gear pumps may produce loud noises and vibrations.

4. The scope of application varies. Rotary pumps are suitable for conveying liquids with high viscosity, easy crystallization, or containing solid particles; Gear pumps are suitable for conveying liquids with low viscosity and cleanliness.

5. The usage performance is different. Rotary pumps have good performance, such as long service life, wide range of use, high efficiency, and firm sealing; Gear pumps are small in size, compact in structure, easy to use, and have good self-priming properties. 6. The difficulty of maintenance varies. There is no gear meshing inside the rotary pump, making maintenance and upkeep relatively simple; Gear pumps require more maintenance and upkeep work.
