First aid guide for hydraulic gear pump oil leakage
1、 Quick diagnosis of oil leakage cause
When we see oil stains on the casing of the hydraulic gear pump, don't rush to disassemble it yet. Wipe the oil leakage point with a cloth and observe:
Shell sand hole: oil stains continuously seeping out from a fixed position
Loosening of bolts: Irregular leakage of oil from the flange surface
Shaft seal leakage: Oil droplets are distributed radially around the rotating shaft
Aging of sealing gasket: uniform oil film appears at the joint
2、 Step by step solution
According to the diagnosis results, prescribe the right medicine:
A. Shell repair:
Fill the sand hole with metal repair agent
After curing, polish to a smooth surface
Severe cracks require replacement of the shell
B. Shaft seal replacement:
Stop the pump and release the pressure
Use a dedicated puller to remove the old oil seal
Apply lubricating grease to the lip of the new oil seal and press fit it
C. Sealing upgrade:
Select oil resistant fluorine rubber gasket
Double sided application of sealant
Tighten the bolts in diagonal order
3、 Daily maintenance tips
Prevention is better than maintenance, and these habits can make hydraulic gear pumps more durable:
Stop immediately if the oil temperature exceeds 70 ℃
Monthly inspection of bolt torque
Replace the breather valve filter every quarter
Different oil products cannot be mixed
